Putin signs new govt law, creates fin min-1st deputy PM post
SOCHI, May 16 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the structure of the new government and created a post of the first deputy prime minister-finance minister, the Kremlin reported late Tuesday.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said earlier that he plans to appoint acting Finance Minister Anton Siluanov as his first deputy.
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin will meet with the new government after Friday but before the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. “The first meeting (of the Russian president) will take place in Moscow with a great decree of probability but when exactly, naturally after Friday.”
Medvedev said that Putin also renamed the Communications and Mass Media Ministry to the Digital Development Ministry, split the Education and Science Ministry to the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and passed trade representations under control of the Industry and Trade Ministry.
